| Stewart Allum had arranged this outing and had picked excellent weather coupled with the big spring tides that promised excellent fishing.
We all assembled in the carpark at Barcombe Mill at 8.30 on the Sunday morning and Stewart showed us the best places to go. Some fished the mill pool and others disappeared both up and downstream.
Those who went far downstream were amazed to find shoals of mullet swimming slowly upstream, sadly oblivious to any lure. No one in our party caught a seatrout although a local fisherman had one. Our party had to content themselves with a few perch and pike!
As usual the Anchor provided excellent food when we all met there at lunch time which we enjoyed outside.
After lunch one or two left for home while others explored the river up and downstream from the Anchor. It was an excellent day with many promising to be back next year - hopefully to connect with a seatrout.
